About us
Le Maquis is first and foremost a story of the heart. A place where nature, stone and river meet to offer a moment of calm and togetherness. Here, we take the time to live, to savour, to reconnect.
The Café-Resto
At the heart of Le Maquis, the café-restaurant brings together locals, travellers and friends around a local and generous cuisine. Garden produce, seasonal recipes, a laid-back atmosphere — a living space in its own right.
The vegetable garden
At the heart of the garden, our vegetable patch feeds both the kitchen and the soul of the place. Tomatoes, courgettes, herbs — each season brings its palette of flavours. We pick what's ripe, we cook what's good. It's simple, it's honest, it's Le Maquis.
The river
En traversant le jardin, vous arrivez au bord du Gardon de Mialet. Une plage de galets, une eau claire et fraîche, le chant des cigales. On se baigne, on lit au soleil, on laisse le temps filer. La rivière fait partie de notre quotidien et de votre séjour.
The building
Lovingly restored, the Cévenol building of Le Maquis blends raw stone, chestnut wood and exposed framework. Around it, several wooden terraces cascade: breakfast in the morning sun, drinks under the stars, reading in the shade of a mulberry tree. Every detail reflects a deep respect for traditional architecture and the life of the place.
